JAMES WRIGHT

James is the founder of Violorn Business Solutions and a Chartered Accountant (ICAS) with over 15 years of experience helping businesses improve financial performance, strengthen cash flow and make better commercial decisions.

 

He began his career with BDO before joining PwC, one of the world's leading professional services firms, where he developed a strong technical foundation in accounting, financial reporting and business advisory.

 

James then moved into industry, holding a number of senior finance leadership roles within multinational organisations. His career has taken him around the world, working with businesses across a range of sectors before being appointed Finance Director of a UK manufacturing company with annual turnover of approximately £60 million. In this role, he led the Finance, Purchasing and IT functions, supporting UK manufacturing operations and international exports.

 

His achievements were recognised when he was named in the ICAS Top 100 Young Chartered Accountants and shortlisted for the Yorkshire Finance Leaders Awards.

 

Since then, James has held a variety of senior finance positions, supporting businesses through periods of rapid growth, transformation and change. His experience spans financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, business performance, finance transformation and strategic decision-making, working with organisations generating combined revenues in excess of £600 million and employing more than 5,000 people.

 

Today, James combines the technical expertise gained in top accountancy firms with the commercial experience of leading finance functions from within businesses. This unique perspective allows him to work alongside business owners as a trusted adviser, providing practical financial insight that helps businesses improve profitability, manage cash flow and plan confidently for the future.

 

Outside of finance, James is also an entrepreneur. He started his first business as a teenager, providing mobile DJ and entertainment services for weddings and events. That business has grown into a successful events company, giving him first-hand experience of the opportunities and challenges faced by business owners. It also means he understands that behind every set of accounts is a real business with real people making important decisions.
